Includes in Sarykoln district (Istyk type section (Kunteisk and Kokchagin areas)

Lithology and Thickness

It is composed of gray-colored and red-colored sandstones and conglomerates; Gypsum is present in a number of regions. Among the pebbles, all pre-Jurassic rocks of the South-Eastern Pamir are recognized.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

The suite unconformably overlies the Carboniferous-Triassic strata, and in the Kourtike-Shakhtesai area, it overlies the Shakhtesay Fm (шахтесайской свите) with erosion.

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the limestones of the Mamasair Fm (мамазаирской свиты).

Regional extent

It is widespread in the basins of the rivers Irkaltdzhilga, Korteke, Shahtesay, Mamazair. It is established almost everywhere where the Jurassic sections of the Istyk type are developed.
